What if my child has never played football before?

We welcome new players at all age levels.  Our coaches will help all players learn the game.

When does the season begin?

Practices will officially begin August 1.  League games begin in September and run through early-November.

Where and when are practices?
Practices are held at Bay Park in East Rockaway.   Games are played at East Rockaway High School.

Practice is held Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Where and when are games played?
The league season is 8 games -- 4 home and 4 away.

Games are mostly played on Sundays, but some Friday night and Saturday games may also be scheduled.

8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 yr old teams can also qualify for playoffs.

The other towns in the NCYFL are Baldwin, Bellmore, Farmingdale, Floral Park, Franklin Square, Garden City, Hempstead, Hicksville, Island Trees, Levitown, Long Beach, Lynbrook, Massapequa, Mineola, RVC, Seaford, and Uniondale.

How is playing time determined?
The 6 yr old division play a 1 hour game with two coaches on the field.  The 7 and 8 year olds divisions are considered instructional and do not have playoffs.  Coaches will do their best to get players equal playing time.  In the competitive divisions (9 through 12) all players will receive equal practice instruction.  Game playing time will be at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Practice is where most instruction take place.  If your child does not attend practices, that will affect his or her playing time.  This is true at all levels.

What else will we need to do before the season?
All football players (new and returning) are required to submit a physician signed and stamped medical form before participating in any ERRAA activities.  This form and instructions for completion are available on our website.

Our league uses a NATIONAL SPORTS ID website to verify player ages.    You will be required to load a copy of you sons birth certificate and copy of his June 2024 report card.  We will provide more details as to when this is required.

All parents/guardians will be required to sign a code of conduct acknowledgement form.

All football players must participate in the official league weigh-in prior to the season.  Any player not weighed in at this session will not be able to play football.  The weigh-in is typically one weeknight in late August.
